Graduating Seniors
Meet our talented graduating seniors who have been an integral part of our orchestra.
Alex Zhong
Violin
Alex is the current concertmaster and assistant conductor for the BAYMS orchestra, and he also plays for the Harker Upper School Orchestra. Alex has been playing violin since he was six years old and is currently studying under his teacher Vivian Hou. Outside of the music world, Alex also enjoys water sports like swimming and water polo. He is interested in studying Computer Engineering and Computer Science in college.
Andre Lu
Violin
Andre is a violinist of 10 years and attends The Harker Upper School. He has played with California Youth Symphony (CYS), the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra (SFSYO), Young Chamber Musicians (YCM), and his school orchestra. Currently, he studies with Seohee Byun, and past teachers include Ernest Yen, Zhao Wei, and Weipin Kuo. He has been with BAYMS for over 7 years.
Claire Zheng
Cello
Claire is a senior at Saratoga High School and has been playing cello since she was 8. She has played with the Golden State Youth Orchestra Senior Symphony and her school orchestra. Claire joined BAYMS seven years ago, and strives to continue bringing joy to her community through music.
Lin Jiang
Piano
Lin Jiang is a senior at Leland High School. Lin has been playing piano for 13 years and has received multiple honors, including first prize in both the Junior and Senior divisions of the Marian Filice Piano Competition and a finalist and honorable mention for the Zeiter Piano Competition. He has also been invited to participate in masterclasses with Ruth Slenczynska, Sasha Starcevich, and Gregg Pauley, among others. Outside of music, Lin enjoys mathematics, computer science, and robotics. Lin joined BAYMS six years ago, and he continues to enjoy bringing happiness to his community through his passion in music.
